How to make a PSF file with PSFCreatorCustomerApp.exe:

Download the JVC StreetDirector Assistant

Make sure all files are in the same folder:

- PSFCreatorCustomerApp.exe

- SDString.dll

- .xml file

- .pc file

- .png file

Step 1

Open the .xml file in Excel.

Keep number of columns constant

countryCode

state

type

nameStr

longitude

latitude

postCode

city

street

houseNumber

telephone

4,xx

51,xx

Download POI, preferred is a .csv file

Open de .csv file in Excel

Convert the longitude and latitude to the right format. (Garmin = value / 10000000)

Original

Converted

83.061.199

549.025.307

Shell;25980;WESTERLAND;TRIFT

8,3061199

54,90253

Copy the converted value and names etc. to the .xml file (Hint, make vba macro)

countryCode

state

type

nameStr

longitude

latitude

postCode

city

street

houseNumber

telephone

945

Shell

8,3061199

54,90253

25980

WESTERLAND

TRIFT

Make sure you use a type (number) that has not been used before (For example the 900 series)

Safe the .xml file

Open command promp and go to the folder with all files.

Enter following command:

General

PSFCreatorCustomerApp.exe  -i ".\NAME.xml" -o ".\NAME.psf" -w 255 -idx 3

Example

SpeedCams

PSFCreatorCustomerApp.exe  -i ".\300_Assistant POI.xml" -o ".\300_Assistant POI.psf" -w 255 -idx 3

Shell:

PSFCreatorCustomerApp.exe  -i ".\945_Shell POI.xml" -o ".\945_Shell POI.psf" -w 255 -idx 3

Step 2

Make a .png file (picture) with pixels appr. 22 x 22

Find a logo and edit it with MS Paint so the size will be not to big.

Step 3

Edit the .pc file to make sure names will be the same

Example:

<types>

            <!-- Custom POI -->

            <type id="945">

              <bitmap position="1">945_Shell POI.png,0,0,22,22,-11,-11</bitmap>

              <zoomlevel min="0" max="30" />

              <priority>30</priority>

              <code agent="PSF">945</code>

            </type>

</types>

In the example bitmap position, 0,0 stands for beginning x-axis and y-axis. 22,22 stands for size of bitmap, -11,-11 stands for I don’t know, but make sure it is the half of the value of before (22).

Step 4

Copy the .psf, .png and .pc file (they should all have the same name) to the folder “MapRegions” on the SD-card

Done!
